The Hatteras 42 Convertible represented a big step forward in convertible design with her full-width flybridge and her bold, aggressive exterior profile. Construction was on the heavy side and there is considerable flare in the bow. Her large cockpit easily accommodates a mounted chair and complete tackle center. The floorplan is a two-stateroom arrangement with the galley down to starboard. A stall shower is fitted to in the double-entry head.
