2009 Eastbay 45 SX

The layout is a double cabin master forward with island modified queen berth, versatile guest cabin/study to starboard, single head with a separate stall shower, galley down open overhead to above salon deck.  The helm shares space with the salon where there is abundant seating including a U-shaped dinette with custom table suitable for entertained and dining for six.  The salon door exits aft to the large cockpit which has additional custom seating and amenities.

Entry to the salon is through a Dutch door which splits for great ventilation.  Upon entry the dramatic curves of aft glass panels give way to large opening side and front windows, creating 360 degree visibility and exceptional ventilation.  To port is a large U-shaped settee and table, while starboard is a custom entertainment cabinet concealing a swiveling hi-lo TV, and flanked on each side with club-like chairs.

Galley is down and to port opposite the Office/Guest cabin.  Several large drawers were positioned beneath the cooktop with organizer systems to stow dishes, pots and pans.  Two drawers were installed in the locker beneath the sink.  The galley is equipped with top load freezer and dry stores with hinging lids in the granite counter.  The advent of the sliding pocket doors to the office/guest cabin make a tremendous special improvement in the and and adjacent space.

The master cabin is forward and configured with an island modified queen berth with large drawers beneath.  Custom mattress, fitted bedding with shams and throw pillows.  The cabin sides are beautifully built out with numerous cabinets, lockers and drawers, with hull sides finished with beautifully built teak batten boards.  The overhead is Nautilux vinyl with recessed Cantalupi lighting and shaded reading lights frame the upholstered headboard.  Ventilation and natural light is provided by 2 opening stainless steel port lights and an overhead opening deck hatch all with screens and shades.  The head with stall is accessible en-suite from this cabin as well as from the passageway.

The study/guest cabin arrangement offers the optimum versatility available in the 45SX.  It is easily adaptable to the varying needs of a cruising boat in this size.  A flip up/down writing/laptop desk with upholstered stool that stows below, forms a dedicated space for work while cruising.  The concealing pocket doors provide privacy, yet when open significantly enhance the spaciousness around the galley.

The head compartment is port side aft of the master and is dual entry accessible from the master cabin as well as the passageway.  It is a large space and houses a separate stall shower enclosed by a cylindrical Lucite surround.

The engine room is new generation from Grand Banks: lined with a fiberglass pan with a gelcoat finish, it is far brighter and easier to clean than previous models.  Headroom and access to all component is excellent.  Advanced engineering is used for sound and vibration attenuation resulting in an extremely smooth and quiet experience aboard.
