The style of the Down East lobster boat is closely associated with Maine’s proud boat building heritage. The Back Cove 30 is a grand example of everything that makes the Down East lobster boat a work of art. She has a traditional spoon bow and her transom is gently sloped: a style that will turn heads in any harbor.
Below the surface she is modern and contemporary. A resin-infused, deep-vee hull with propeller recess and standard trim tabs offers a quiet and comfortable ride. With her standard 320 horsepower 6 cylinder diesel, she will cruise at 20 knots and top out at 25, and with optional higher horsepower, she will cruise at 25 knots. Around the docks, you will appreciate the maneuverability provided by her standard bow thruster. Her deck hardware is as rugged as the coastline she calls home.
The Back Cove 30: the perfect design for day boating or overnight cruising.
back cove 32
The Back Cove 32 is the latest model to be launched in a range that spans more than 700 hulls and 14 years. New to the Back Cove range for 2017 she is an amalgam of design ideas coming from discussions with our current owners and potential owners, about the ways in which they use their boats.
The Back Cove 32 offers the same concepts that have built the success of the range. Extraordinary fuel efficiency from her single diesel engine, straight forward systems and rugged good looks that are the talk of any harbor she enters.
While her on-deck spaces are perfect for entertaining family and friends, her cozy and luxurious interior perfectly suits the needs of the cruising couple. The skilled boat builders at Back Cove have crafted a warm and inviting interior using American cherry, finely finished with satin varnish.

Our goal for the Back Cove 34 was to create a cruising yacht with the same simple features, usability and maintenance that have built the popularity of the Back Cove brand. With input from many of our current boat owners, we have created a yacht that offers tremendous value, great style and modern practicality.
Below deck is a large and comfortable island berth and a convertible L-settee that can be isolated from the cabin with a curtain. To starboard, there is a large head with separate stall shower. On the helm deck, a full galley stretches out aft of the helm seat, and to port, a dinette that can seat four adults in complete comfort is the perfect spot to enjoy a meal on board. An inlaid table is a fine example of the Maine boat builder’s craftsmanship and tradition, evident throughout the Back Cove 34.
Forward of the dinette, a double mate’s seat is a comfortable perch for the navigator. The helm deck is airy and bright with overhead pilot hatches, opening side windows and a center opening windshield. A Stidd helm chair provides comfort for the helmsman underway.
In her cockpit a large, L-shaped bench seat and a foldaway aft-facing seat provide comfortable lounging spots while underway or when anchored in a peaceful cove. Engine access is extraordinary, as the helm deck, including the portside dinette, lifts hydraulically to expose the yacht’s mechanical systems below.
The Back Cove 34 is the ideal couple’s cruising yacht.
The Back Cove 37 continues the practical features that have identified the Back Cove range of Downeast-style motor yachts: usability, low maintenance and fuel efficiency.
The master stateroom has an island berth for ease of egress, and for stowage of gear, many lockers and drawers are provided. To starboard aft of the master is a full guest cabin with a Pullman berth and ample storage capacity. Opposite and to port is a large head unit with separate stall shower.
Between the lower and salon sole levels, the mid-galley is fully equipped with a refrigerator, freezer, microwave oven and deep stainless steel sink as well as many drawers and lockers for galley storage. Large windows overhead provide the galley with ample visibility and light.
In the salon twin, Stidd helm seats are provided for the helmsman and crew. Aft of the helm is an L-shaped settee and to port a two-person loveseat. An elegant inlaid table offers a comfortable space for dining with crew and guests. Large windows offer plenty of light and air, while overhead a large sliding pilot hatch allows air to flow through the salon. At the aft end of the main salon, large swing-bi-fold doors completely open up the salon to the cockpit. At the transom, fixed seating will provide the comfort you desire for socializing with guests.
The fuel-efficient Back Cove 37 is the ideal yacht for long range cruising.
We intend the 41 to be unequaled in its class in terms of the efficiency of its operation, the thoughtfulness of its design, and the execution of its build.
The Back Cove 41 is the largest Back Cove to date and will be fitted with an efficient single Cummins 600hp diesel engine. The yacht will also be equipped with bow and stern thrusters, a generator set and reverse cycle heat and air conditioning systems are standard.
The focus of her balanced interior arrangement is on her two comfortable staterooms, each with a private head. The centralized galley location serves the open-air cockpit as easily as the salon.
Kevin Burns, Vice President of Design and Product Development, says, “The 41 was conceived from the onset to serve as the flagship of the Back Cove fleet. Clean, purposeful lines and naturally pleasing proportions dominate the profile and are supported by serious attention to the sculpted details that set today’s Back Coves apart from their peers.”
Back Cove Yachts proudly presents the Back Cove Downeast 37; continuing with the same practical features, usability and low maintenance that have built the popularity of the Back Cove brand since its inception in 2003.
Her interior is built in the Herreshoff style, with white panels and raised wooden trim. The master stateroom offers an island berth with steps to both sides for ease of egress. Storage is plentiful with many lockers and drawers provided. At the base of the companionway and in close proximity to the helm is a functional galley with microwave oven, fridge freezer and deep stainless sink. To starboard aft of the master is an expansive head unit with separate stall shower.
On deck, the purpose of the design comes into its own. Convertible seating is elevated so that everyone can enjoy the views. The helm deck and cockpit sole are at one level so that all of your guests can be part of the activity on board. A retractable cockpit awning covers the open aft cockpit.
Exceptional engine and equipment access is found through two large hatches in the cockpit sole.
The Back Cove Downeast 37 is the ideal platform for days on the water with family and friends.
