Introduction

54 Super Sport Overview

For some, the surrender to an elemental life of immense azure skies and depthless seas is reason enough. For others, it is a contest of will and heart with a solitary marlin. There are some who need no other reason to own one of the world’s most celebrated yachts than to steer her over an inland passage in search of the farthest reaches of experience.

The Ocean 54 Super Sport combines the production efficiencies that have made Oceans famous for value with many amenities found on our larger yachts. And an advanced planing hull that reimagines seaworthiness for a new generation of boaters.

She possesses an elegant salon, roomy dinette, and a galley equipped for all occasions. Three large staterooms and three private heads. A spacious bridge on which to command your destiny. A cockpit and mezzanine to coordinate the pursuit of fish or pleasure on the water or at the dock.

If you are one for whom experience is everything, the new 54 Super Sport is everything you could wish for.

Hull Design

Hull Design

The 54 Super Sport possesses the soft contours, elegant design, and distinctive sheerline that make Oceans the touchstone in classic American production yachts. Like our flagship 73 SS model, the 54 Super Sport features an aft-deck mezzanine with full-length lounge, presiding over the sportfishing action in the tournament-sized cockpit.

Every Ocean model since the 57 Super Sport rides on an evolved planing hull engineered for significantly reduced resistance, less slippage and improved efficiency at all speeds. The 54 SS is no exception. At the large flybridge’s island helm station, Ocean captains can navigate difficult seas – at cruising speed – without the punishing effect common aboard many competitive boats. Ocean’s new rough-water hull may well be the best in class. Foul weather can discourage many other sportfishermen while ours are running for the offshore canyons and big-game fish.

Propeller tunnels have been added to the 54 SS for those who want to dock their boat behind the house, explore inland waterways, or cruise a river or canal to the sea. Draft is just 4′.

The 54 Super Sport has the 30+ knot speed with standard power and agility in all sea conditions that have established Ocean as the premier manufacturer of sportsfishermen since 1978.

Optional powerplants are available for those wanting even more power. Integral to the hull, an underwater exhaust system reduces fumes and significantly dampens sound.

Oceans are backed by a transferable Five-Year Limited Structural Hull Warranty

Fishing Accessories

Fishing Accessories

The large bridge boasts a fully instrumented, island helm station. Also standard are the custom hardtop with three-sided enclosure, sprawling U-lounge, under-seat rod storage, companion and helmsman’s chairs, and insulated cooler-box.

An EZ2CY enclosure is a popular option, as are an aft enclosure, refrigerator/freezer box, a flush-mounted radio-teaser reel box in the hardtop, air-conditioning, and a third helm chair.

A transom-mounted circulating livewell, rod holders, dunnage box, fresh- and sea-water washdowns, two insulated fishboxes with pumpouts, and a hinged gate in the transom door are standard tournament assets. Lazarette access is located in the cockpit. Refrigerated fishbox units are an option as are Rupp outriggers, center rigger, and a fighting chair. An Eskimo icemaker is also an available option.

A mezzanine commands the sportfishing action, or enlarges onboard entertainment possibilities. A tackle drawer, undersole freezer unit and fresh-water sink, undersole storage, and engine-room access are included. The mezzanine is available in teak as an option.

Salon Features

Salon

Teak (or optional cherry) wood combine with rich fabrics, carpeting, wall coverings, and valance treatments to create a luxurious atmosphere. Personal Choice interior décor selections allow owners to express their individuality. An upholstered chair complements a U-lounge with concealed rod storage.

The entertainment center features a recessed 30″ LCD TV and Bose Lifestyle stereo with CD/DVD player. The standard icemaker and cocktail ottoman confirm Ocean’s unrivaled generosity of standard equipment.

Gallery

Galley
A convection/microwave oven, recessed three-burner range, an undercounter drawer-style refrigerator and freezer are standard; working surfaces and galley storage, ample.

Conveniences include a trash compactor and central vacuuming system. Countertops are Corian®, the flooring Amtico®.

Staterooms

Quarters

The midship master stateroom accommodates a large full-sized bed. Featured are a high-gloss vanity, cedar-lined hanging lockers, and clothes drawers. A 20″ LCD TV with DVD and an AM/FM stereo with CD player are also standard.
The private head size and amenities are normally found on larger models.

The standard guest stateroom layout (Plan “A”), features a large berth with under-mattress storage, and cedar hanging-lockers. Plan “B” (optional) has two roomy bunk beds. The full head can be secured to serve the guests exclusively, or be used as a day head.

Aft and athwart the boat, the crew or second guest stateroom has side-by-side twin berths, generous drawer space, and a hanging locker. Twin berths convert easily into a queen-sized berth with standard cushions and insert. The full head with shower is ensuite.

Master, guest & third stateroom heads all feature enclosed showers, mirrored medicine cabinets, linen storage, Corian® countertops, Amtico® flooring, Vacu Flush® toilets, and stylish fixtures.
