WALK THROUGH:
From the huge cockpit, without an engine box, painted with beige contrasting non-skid, access below is two steps down into the main cabin with a lower helm, galley, dinette, head and berth. The beige Dacron aft curtains and door are easily removed to open all below to the cockpit
The remodeled deck house features custom reshaped aluminum windows from Sarasota. The sole is top of the line Amtico teak and holly, and a solid teak 1" cabin door to the cuddy cabin. Pinhead vinyl overhead, retro 12V reading lights, and Rybovitch bulkhead arches add to the bristol yacht look. All teak trim is varnished and has been removed and reinstalled with removable stainless straight slot screws. Saddle colored Ultraleather on lower helm bench seat, dinette seating and V berths.
There has been a complete color-coded tin coated copper rewire.
All bulkheads and soles have been replaced, and epoxy edges sealed before vinylester was reinstalled.
A step up from the cockpit is the very cool flybridge and centerline helm with a double bench seat, custom Panish throttles to port, new retro minimized gauges to starboard, and Garmin GPS and VHF. There is a full beige bacon flybridge cover.
GALLEY AND DINETTE:
The galley is to port aft of the helm seat. There is a countertop with a sink, cutting board, cabinet for plate storage, ample storage below the countertop that includes a hidden Igloo cooler.
The comfy dinette with a teak trimmed formica table is opposite the galley and helm to starboard. All brightly lit with great visibility provided by the enormous windows.
LOWER HELM:
The helm features a white Car Wheel with hydraulic steering, Garmin GPS, VHF, large Ritchie 5" compass, relocated control tube for uninterrupted views, all new breakers double as switches, windshield wiper, and neat chrome side controls. Binocular storage is outboard of helm seat.
FORWARD CUDDY CABIN:
There is 4'5" headroom, 8' berths and a large overhead hatch. The rope locker is forward, and ample storage under the berths.
COCKPIT, SIDE DECKS AND FOREDECK:
The big cockpit has an engine hatch to provide easy access, light beige contrasting non-skid, and a Marinco A/C outlet. All stainless safety bars and fiberglass vents have been replaced or restored to perfect condition. There are sparkling double chrome horns on the front of the flybridge.
The side decks and foredeck are painted with an off-white non-skid. There is a large hatch over the V berth, and a Fortress anchor at the bow.
The hull is white, the waterline dark blue (and a dark blue trim around the base of the flybridge) and a green bottom. She is a head turner in every harbor.
St John has a semi-displacement solid glass hull with a Hatteras type ride in aggressive wakes or seas. She has a sweeping shear line, curved transom, and curved deckhouse. All classic lines.
Literally every single screw was removed. All of the deck coring was replaced, all through- hulls and deck holes were filled for a fresh "minimal" symmetrical look. All deck hardware, air vents and hand rails were replaced. Highlights include all vinylester glass work along with epoxied keel and a barrier coat before the bottom paint.
422 hours on single screw Chevy/Crusader-style 325HP engine since complete rebuild in 2011. Highlights of the rebuild:
Engine block and crank pre-vortec machined in 2011. All new manifolds, rods, pistons, custom cam, #80 oil pump, fuel system, raw water filter, and customized for broad cruising performance, and much more. Balanced and blueprinted to 10,000th. Two group 31 batteries.
