1991 Taswell 49

Westport, Connecticut

Since the present owners bought Chitty Bang in early 2013, they have upgraded virtually every system on the yacht.  The lengthy list (7 pages, small font) can be made available, but the highlights are included in the listing.  While some obvious, others are not.  These include:

  • Schaefer Gamma Boom with in-boom furling and boom vang
  • Hydranet Sails:  main, staysail and Yankee
  • Vetus Bow Thruster
  • SeaFrost refrigeration/freezer system
  • All 12 port lights newly sealed; windows in main salon rebedded
  • Inside helm:  Raymarine e-series Chartplotter, ST70 Multi, HD radar, AIS
  • Upholstery replaced throughout interior, replaced bimini and spray hood, replaced cockpit cushions
  • Dickinson Marine Mediterranean stove
  • New Lifeline batteries (house and engine banks) (2019)
  • New Raymarine Multi at cockpit helm
  • Major engine & gen service including valve adjustment and replace exhaust elbows (2021)
  • Prior owners:  New Teak Decking Systems decks (2009)
  • Prior owners:  New standing rigging (2009)
  • Prior owners:  Bowthruster and more (2010)

These are only a few of the many upgrades to Chitty Bang.  She is in extraordinary condition, ready to take her new owners any where in the world. The interior helm makes passage-making far more comfortable than simply a center my personal experience rounding Cape Hatteras in a very heavy sea will attest.

The owners have had a change of plans, and are regrettably putting Chitty Bang on the market.
