2008 Fathom Yachts Expedition 40

Alderu is a meticulously-maintained 2008 40' Fathom Expedition fast trawler designed for long range comfortable and economical cruising.  She offers a 2 stateroom, raised pilothouse layout, single 425hp Cummins engine, Northern Lights 9 kW generator, Sidepower bow and stern thrusters, an easily accessible engine room and a unique fold-down transom. Her owners have invested heavily in state-of-the art navigation and communication electronics, including the Dockmate remote docking system and a new suite of Garmin electronics. Walkthrough

From the integral fiberglass swimplatform, you step into the aftdeck via the unique Fathom drop-down transom.  You can step up the molded-in flybridge stairs to the flybridge or lift them to walk down into the tool room and then engine room; or step into the salon via the Diamond Seaglaze aluminum and glass door.  Once inside the salon, you will find storage cabinetry starboard aft, matching barrel chairs to starboard, entertainment center and electrical center starboard forward, U-shaped seating with hi/lo table (Converts to a double size berth) to port and the galley port forward.  Walk forward and step up into the raised pilothouse with starboard side deck door to the foredeck or step down into the guest companionway.  The head with enclosed shower is to port, guest stateroom is to starboard and the master stateroom is forward.  Engine room access is via a gas strut assisted hatch in the flybridge steps.  There is a large storage area underneath the guest companionway steps.

The headroom in the salon, pilothouse and on the aftdeck is 6'5", 6'6" in the master stateroom, 6'2" in the guest stateroom, 7' in the shower and 6'8" on the flybridge. The master stateroom berth is 6'6" long and the guest stateroom berth is 6'8" long.

Alderu offers a master stateroom forward with an island queen size berth and a guest stateroom to starboard with a double size berth.  The salon settee converts into a double size berth also. The head with enclosed shower is to port across from the guest stateroom. 

The salon offers U-shaped seating with a removable table that converts to a double size berth to port, storage cabinet starboard aft, matching barrel chairs to starboard, entertainment center starboard forward, Diamond Seaglaze aluminum & glass door aft with curtain, opening side and aft windows and new white linen blinds and vinyl teak & holly sole.

The galley is located port forward in the salon.

The raised pilothouse offers vertical windows in the windshield for better visibility, helm starboard forward, Zwaardvis helm seat, wrap-around seating and table to port, side deck access door to starboard, carpet and vinyl teak & holly sole, 2 hatches aft and storage cabinet.

The flybridge offers a bimini, non-skid deck, molded-in steps from the aftdeck, tender storage aft, bench seat to starboard and helm and (2) Todd helm seats forward.

Permanent chocks for tender replaced with removable Weaver chocks, providing more useable space when the tender is off the boat

The covered aftdeck offers a non-skid deck, molded-in steps to each side deck and the flybridge, Fathom drop-down transom, lazarette access, engine room access, stainless steel sink forward and (3) storage cabinets.

The engine room is accessed by lifting the gas-strut assisted molded-in flybridge steps, where you step down into the tool room and then through a Diamond Seaglaze door into the engine room.  The tool room houses the inverter and electrical panels, along with tool storage.
